I have been working with wood for the past 8 years building mostly Craftsman and Mission style coffee tables, cradles, entertainment centers and such for family and friends. It wasn't until I was given an older lathe as a gift that I discovered the skill and art that goes into woodturning. Immediately I was intrigued by the natural beauty of a well-turned piece of wood. Starting on wine-stoppers and working my way to bowls and hollowforms, I attempt to shape each piece into the form that will show all of the inherent qualities the tree has developed through exposure to nature's forces over its growth cycle. All of the wood I use is salvaged from precut trees destined for fireplaces or recycle centers. Please visit the "current work" page for more designs.
